Punjab police have registered five cases against Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz and 200 party workers for violating the Covid SOPs during her recent rally in Lahore. Further, the authorities have sealed Butt Karahi at the Lakshmi Chowk where Maryam Nawaz and other PMLN leaders had food after the rally on Thursday.
Indoor dining is currently banned in restaurants in Lahore to check the spread of coronavirus. However, restaurants operating with outdoor sitting arrangements are open.
Maryam Nawaz led a rally from Jati Umra on Thursday ahead of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) jalsa on December 13. Earlier, DJ Butt the vendor who will be arranging sound system for the PDM rally was briefly arrested.
