KP Hospital To Probe Death Of 6 Covid Patients Due To Lack Of Oxygen On Its Own
The death of six Covid-19 patients in ICU and isolation units of the Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar due to non-availability of oxygen will be probed internally by the hospital itself. The provincial government has asked the hospital board to probe the matter.
Three women were among the patients who breathed their last on Sunday morning for want of oxygen.
The incident has generated outrage on social media with people questioning the state of healthcare system in KP.
This KTH tragedy is so horrible man. How the hell do you run out of oxygen in a freaking hospital. Heads should roll. Almost a decade for PTI in KP. They must take responsibility and someone higher up needs to be held responsible.

7 people who went to a hospital in KP fighting Covid19, died because the hospital didnt have as basic a thing as oxygen cylinder. The Selected PM, whose party is in power in KP, who tweets about opposition frantically, hasn't tweeted about this. Instead he's tweeting about GB.

KP health minister has admitted that 8 patients died due to lack of Oxygen cylinders in the hospital. Says they will "learn from the mistake". I'm lost for words

If six innocent lives had been lost because of a shortage of oxygen in a government hospital in Sindh, by now a JIT would have been formed and NAB would have been tasked to investigate
In KP, all we have is the Peshawar hospital’s internal (non-independent) inquiry

It is also being said that the hospital administration should not have been asked to look into the matter on its own because the inquiry will not be independent if it is conducted by those responsible for the criminal negligence.
This has to be one of the most shameless explanations ever. Govt asking board of #KTH to conduct an inquiry is most absurd. Is the BoG going to conduct inquiry against itself? There must be an independent inquiry with the scope right up to the Health Min & CM Pakhtunkhwa. 1/n pic.twitter.com/qPELRQFDeF
