Two Soldiers Martyred In South Waziristan Terror Attack

Two soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred in Pash Ziarat area of South Waziristan during an attack on check post late on Wednesday night.


Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday said in a statement that terrorists fired at the checkpoint late at night. Two soldiers Havaldar Matloob Alam and Sepoy Suleman Shaukat were martyred during the attack. “The forces responded promptly to the attack”, added the statement.


Another soldier was also injured in the attack. The statement also read that a search operation was underway to clear the area.


Last month, 20 soldiers were killed in different parts of the country after which a corps commander conference was held to discuss the surge in terrorism, particularly in former FATA and Balochistan.


In September, an army officer was martyred in Shakai area of South Waziristan during an exchange of fire with terrorists.


 

Last month, there was also a suicide attack at a seminary in which more than 170 people including children were martyred.
