Female Students Of Islamia College Protest Sexual Harassment By Teachers
Female students of Islamia College, Peshawar on Wednesday held a protest demonstration against alleged sexual harassment at the hands of teachers and the college staff. The protesting students allege that they are sexually harassed by their teachers and if they speak up against this behaviour, the teachers wrongfully deduct their marks in examinations.

According to the students, many unreported cases of sexual harrasment and a few reported cases provoked the protest.

A female student at the protest accused Amirullah, Chairman of the Department of Political Science, for harrasing one of her fellows recently and other female students for years.

Students demanded that harrasment cases must be investigated and those 'teachers' who are involved should be terminated immediately.

Talking to the Naya Daur, Iqra Manzoor from Progressive Students Collective appreciated the girls of Islamia College for standing against harrasment. She further told that the formation of harassment committees is one of the main demands of Students Solidarity March which is to be held on 27th of November across Pakistan.
