Romanian band Akcent's lead singer Adrian Sina congratulated ex-DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor on his promotion to the higher rank of lieutenant general. The newly appointed lieutenant general had a ‘cup of tea’ with the singer last year during the latter’s visit to Pakistan.
In a tweet congratulating his 'friend', Adrian Sina writes, "Congratulations to you my friend for being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General @peaceforchange. I can't wait to have the Fantastic cup of tea again."

The reference to 'fantastic tea’ is a dig at Indian fighter pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was caught by Pakistani authorities and served tea in custody which he had described as ‘fantastic’.
Other than Asif Ghafoor, five other generals were promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. These include Major General Akhtar Nawaz, Major General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, Major General Salman Fayyaz Ghani, Major General Sarfraz Ali and Major General Muhammad Ali. Lt Gen Ghafoor, after the announcement of his promotion was trending number 1 on Pakistan Twitter.
