Captain Safdar, Qamar Zaman Kaira Test Positive For Coronavirus
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Youth Wing President Capt (retd) Safdar and Peoples Party's (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira have tested positive for Coronavirus. Both politicians were in Gilgit Baltistan for elections which are to be held on 15th of November.

PML-N Youth Wing spokesman Ali Khan Yousufzai told that Safdar had complained of cough and flu before returning to Islamabad with his wife Maryam Nawaz. Safdar was tested positive in Islambad from where he returned to Lahore. He was admitted to Sharif Medical City Hospital on the advice of his doctors. Yousufzai added that Safdar's condition was 'satisfactory'.

Separately, former Information Minister and PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira also tested positive for Covid. Kaira had been campaigning in Gilgit Baltistan for the elections. Information Minister of Sindh Government Syed Nazeer Hussain Shah in a tweet said, " Qamar Zaman Kaira sb a great asset of the party and our senior, who has been campaigning in the rocky hills of Gilgit-Baltistan with our beloved Chairman for the last 16 days, has fallen victim to Covid-19. We pray to Almighty for his best health. Aameen"

GB had been one of the hotspots of Coronavirus in the May-June, but the number of cases declined following the first wave of Covid. The positivity rate of Covid-19 has again increased upto 15%-third highest in the country.

The second wave of Coronavirus has intensified, as the government braces for implementing more restrictions from November 20. After the meeting about second wave of the virus, NCOC had directed government to stop indoor weddings from November 20th while 50% work from home policy was also suggested for the public and private companies.
