Appointed CCPO Lahore To Facilitate My Brother-In-Law, Says PM Imran
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he appointed Umar Shaikh as Lahore CCPO because under the previous IG Punjab, the police were taking no action against forced occupation of his [Khan’s] brother-in-law’s land in Lahore. “My brother-in-law had told me to do something about the occupied land after I became the PM,” he said.

The appointment of CCPO Lahore Umar Shaikh was criticized by the opposition parties. He also came under fire after his misogynist remarks about the victim of motorway incident who was gang-raped on Lahore-Sialkot motorway last month.

Khan said that his brother-in-law told him that his plots had been occupied for five years and requested him to do something about the plots. He added that land grabbers shot down the neighbor of his brother-in-law whose land was also occupied by them.

Separately, Khan also accused former prime minister Nawaz Sharif of being 'anti-state'. He claimed that the intelligence agencies have information about his 'activities', but the information provided by intelligence agencies does not stand in the court. He also claimed that Nawaz Sharif was in contact with the former diplomat Hussain Haqqani who came under fire after Memogate scandal in 2012 for allegedly asking United States to directly intervene in Pakistan.
