Special Branch Warns Of Possible Clash At PDM Gujranwala Rally
In a 'confidential' report about Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)'s October 16 rally in Gujranwala, Punjab's special branch has warned the government of possible unrest if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) holds a counter rally. The special branch has also named some PML-N workers of the city who can ensure large crowds at the rally.

Dawn reported that the special branch has further told Punjab IG police Inam Ghani that Jinnah Stadium, the venue for the rally, can house around 50,000 people. The special branch report further says that the PML-N leadership has extended invitations to leaders of the PDM for a meeting with respective DC office. Further, the report says that PML-N has decided that if it is not granted permission to hold the rally at Jinnah Stadium, it will be held on GT road or 'any other place'.

Earlier, Captain (r) Safdar had announced that the workers would stage a protest outside the residences of corps commanders in case PML-N workers were detained by the police in the lead up to the rally.
