The Supreme Court has served a notice on Prime Minister Imran Khan for his participation in a ceremony of PTI’s lawyers wing Insaf Lawyers Forum (ILF) held last week.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the PM is the premier of the whole country, not of a particular group, adding that his act of attending the ceremony was tantamount to misusing the state’s resources. The judge made these observations while hearing a case against the government of Punjab. “This is a matter of constitution and fundamental rights,” Justice Isa said.

The Supreme Court has also served notices on the attorney general of Pakistan, Punjab’s advocate general and the in-charge of Islamabad’s Convention Centre, where the said ceremony took place. Justice Isa also sought response from the convention centre’s in-charge about whether or not the expenses for the event were paid for.
Justice Isa has forwarded the matter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed, seeking the constitution of a bench to hear the case.
In his speech at the Insaf Lawyers Forum even last week, PM Khan had said that the opposition parties were unable to ‘control’ the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) after the agency because it knows everything about their alleged corruption.

This is most stupid case ever heard of. This case clearly shows that the Prime Minister is being framed . Who is the complainant against PM ? The Judiciary is using touts to create a case and then fix it with a Judge whose bias against the Prime Minister is known to all. The Judiciary is trying to create a situation and create confrontation . Has the Chief Justice never attended the meetings of Lawyers in Official Buildings. Has he not attended the meetings of the Bars. The malifide is visible . Shame on such unfair Judiciary
