A policeman was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a theatre actress in Lahore. The actor had filed a complaint against the cop alleging that he took her to a hotel in Garden Town for a dance event and later subjected her to rape.
The complainant said that the policeman had hired her for dance at the party as she was a dancer by profession. Dawn newspaper quoted the complainant as saying that the rapist fled after committing the crime.
A rape case has been registered against the policemen by Garden Town police who have arrested him.
Meanwhile, Punjab IG Inam Ghani took notice of the incident, seeking an inquiry report from the CCPO. A departmental inquiry against the accused cop has also been ordered.
