After the formation of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) last month, the movement is all set to stage its political protests against the government by holding its first gathering in Quetta on the 18th.
In this regard, PkMAP has already requested the district administration for permission to host a rally at Ayub National Stadium. The rally was slated to be held on the 11th, but it was later postponed to the 18th.
PkMAP MPA Nasrullah Zayeri said the mass gathering called by Pakistan Democratic Movement will be held on Sunday and that an NOC has already been requested.
Another major political player in the province, Awani National Party, has yet to make up its mind. Even though the ANP is a part of the PDM at the federal level, in Balochistan, it is the part of the government.
Asghar Khan Achakzai, president ANP Balochistan chapter, held a press conference this Monday on the issue. He said the provincial chapter of the ANP will toe the line of the central command.
"As for the decision taken to go with APC’s movement against the government, ANP Balochistan will also join PDM in its power shows." He told reporters that the ANP will quit the ruling coalition if the need arose.
Responding to the announcement of the start of the anti-government campaign from Balochistan, Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan responded that the mainstream political parties use Balochistan for 'stunts'. He added that when it comes to CPEC, development, motorways, infrastructure, the province is ignored.
He challenged the opposition parties to identify even a single mega project that was initiated in Balochistan during their tenure.

PDM announced that the opposition parties would launch a three-phased anti-government movement from next month, with countrywide public meetings, protest demonstrations and rallies in December, and a ‘decisive’ long march towards Islamabad in January 2021.
The opposition said it would enlist lawyers, traders, farmers, students, media as well as members of the civil society in its movement against the government. The resolution said the opposition parties will use every ‘legal and constitutional option in and out of parliament, which include moving no-confidence motions and collective resignations from assemblies at an appropriate time’, the resolution stated.
The opposition also demanded a new accountability law in the country in compliance with the Supreme Court verdict and suggestions made by the human rights watchdogs and the Council of Islamic Ideology. It also demanded accountability for all so that everyone could be held accountable, including bureaucrats, lawmakers, judicial and army officials.
