A woman student of Government College University Lahore was allegedly raped by her four classmates in Chiniot on Monday. She was also tortured and filmed while being subjected to violence.
The police registered an FIR and apprehended one of the four men named as Shahid. The police are yet to locate three other men, but assured that they would succeed in arresting the culprits soon.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry. He directed the Regional Police Officer of Faislabad to present an inquiry report and arrest all the culprits at the earliest.
Recently, the incidents of sexual violence against women have increased to alarming levels in the country. After the motorway incident the government assured that it would work towards curbing such incidents and that a law was being prepared in this regard.
