5 Killed As Blast Rocks Gulshan-e-Iqbal Area Of Karachi
A blast in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi claimed five lives and left at least 20 people injured. The wounded were shifted to a nearby hospital as security forces cordoned off the area.

Media reports indicate seven people are critically injured. Rescue officials told media that the explosion took place in a residential building. The cause of the blast, however, remains unknown and the authorities are said to be carrying out an investigation in this regard.

The authorities have also said that the number of casualties may rise as they remove the rubble.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident seeking a detailed report from the commission of Karachi. Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives, the chief minister directed the relevant authorities to ensure provision of immediate medical aid to the wounded.

Earlier on Tuesday, a bomb blast that took place in Shireen Jinnah Colony of Karachi had left six people injured. The explosion was caused by a device planted in a motorcycle which was parked near the site of the blast.
