After winning the best short film award at the South Shore Film Festival in New York, Usman Mukhtar's directorial 'Bench' is heading to Cannes International Independent Film Festival. The director announced the news of the film's nomination in the short film category via his instagram in a heartfelt and thankful post.
In his post he writes, "With great humility, joy and pride do we announce that Bench has been selected at the first Cannes International Independent Film Festival – CIIFF. We strive for the love of art and cinema and hope to reach new heights. we will continue making more films and also make it to the one and only Cannes Film Festival one day."

This milestone is not only an honour for the production team of the short film but for the entirety of Pakistani film industry. It seems as though finally there's good Pakistani content in term of films that can represent our country on international platforms.
