JUI-F Lawmaker Expelled From KP Assembly For Threatening To Bomb Building

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani expelled Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl member from South Waziristan Hafiz Isamuddin from the House for one day after the latter threatened to blow up the building with a bomb during his speech on Aug 25.

“In exercise of powers conferred upon me under sub-rule (2) of Rule 227 of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Procedure and Conduct of Business Rules, 1988, I do hereby order to withdraw Mr Isamuddin, MPA forthwith from the House on account of his misconduct — threatened the MPAs, this August House and precinct of the assembly,” read the speaker’s order as quoted by Dawn newspaper.

Speaking on a point of order on Aug 25, the South Waziristan lawmaker criticised the security forces for not clearing landmines from Badder in his constituency. He said due to the landmines, several women and children have their life or become disabled.

According to the lawmaker, he would bomb the assembly by putting explosives in his waistcoat if his reservations were not addressed.

A resolution denouncing the MPA's remarks was also passed by the House with a majority vote. The PTI and ANP supported the resolution, which demanded of the JUI-F to act against its such elements and of the speaker to expel the MPA from the session for a day.
