SAPM Zulfi Bukhari Says Will Give Up Dual Nationality If PM Desires

Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari has said that he would be willing to give up his dual nationality if Prime Minister Imran Khan tells him to do so.

Giving his two cents on the recent controversy surrounding dual national cabinet members, the PM's special assistant said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not going anywhere for the next eight years.

"For the next eight years, the opposition should find some job and work. Enough is enough. They have looted the country during their tenures, now it is time to do the hard work," he said as quoted by website MeraMirpur..

According to Bukhari the next eight years would be best for Pakistan. He said the opposition lawmakers call them out for being dual nationals, but they flee the country first chance they get.

“I am in Pakistan and they have run to London, their children have[also] fled abroad. I am in Pakistan and their Iqamas are surfacing.”

In a tweet, he said he was shocked to see how 'certain segments are trying to dishearten #OverseasPakistanis from serving Pakistan'.

"The efforts to vilify OPs only push us to do more. In my personal capacity I’ll keep fighting for their voting rights & integration in every segment of society & gov," he added.
