Maryam Nawaz Called Out For Violating Social Distancing Protocol

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz was called out by social media users over violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In pictures that were shared on Twitter, Maryam can be seen hugging her party supporters in a public space without wearing a mask. She also failed to maintain the six-feet distance recommended by the health authorities to stop the spread of the virus.

A social media user urged Maryam to avoid physical contact amid the pandemic.

Another user claimed that PML-N used coronavirus issue for politicking, but now its vice president was hugging people as if the pandemic was over.

Though the number of new infections is seeing a downward trend, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had warned of a second wave of the coronavirus infections over lack of compliance of the SOPs. “There was a possibility of re-emergence of the deadly virus as a violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) was being reported in tourist spots,” it had said.
