Blast At JI Rally In Karachi Injures 10, Party Leader Blames RAW

At least 10 people were wounded in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal following a bomb attack on a pro-Kashmir rally taken out by the Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday.

The JI held the gathering to mark the one-year anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 that provided special status to the occupied Kashmir.

A JI spokesperson said the target of the blast was the main truck and added that two people were critically injured as a result.

Chief of JI’s Karachi chapter Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly condemned the incident, saying details regarding the party’s future course of action in this connection would be shared with the media after the conclusion of the rally. He went on to blame the Indian spy agency RAW for this attack.

JI Ameer Sirajul Haq also condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act” in a tweet.

“The attack on JI rally is a cowardly act… Indian agents are still present in the city who could not tolerate show of solidarity with Kashmiris… we will not be frightened by such foul play and will continue speaking up for the people of Kashmir with even more courage,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.
