Actor Atiqa Odho Says Liquor Case Against Her Was ‘Politically Motivated’
The “Humsafar” and “Pyar Ke Sadqay “actor, Atiqa Odho took to social media to share the details about the 9 year old liquor case she was acquitted for last week. The actor said the case against her was “politically motivated.”
Having known how tough and expensive the entire ordeal of court cases is, Odho also expressed her concern for the ones who can’t afford to engage in long, tiring court cases. She is of the view that the state should provide legal aid for these people.
“Those who are unfortunate, who don’t have enough resources or money, the judiciary should be mindful of them. The state should make a system so they can afford higher court costs and get the justice they deserve,” she appealed.
Atiqa Odho was acquitted last week in a nine-year-old case in which she was accused of carrying two liquor bottles in her luggage at an airport. In its verdict, the court said that there was no evidence against Odho.
