3 Soldiers Martyred As Terrorists Open Fire During Search Operation In Waziristan

At least three Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and four personnel received injuries during a search operation in South Waziristan, said the military's media wing.

"Terrorist fire raid at security forces blocking position during a search operation in South Waziristan," a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday. The martyred soldiers are identified as Subedar Nadeem, Sepoy Saleem and Lance Naik Musawar.

Last week, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had visited North Waziristan's Dawatoi sector. According to the ISPR, the COAS had said: “We have to remain vigilant and steadfast to thwart hostile attempts to create chaos and reverse the gains of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.”

“Recent consolidation operations along Pak-Afghan border ensured effective area domination of some inaccessible pockets of land which were being sporadically used by terrorists as hideouts to target local populace and security apparatus in the rear areas,” the ISPR had said.
