PML-N MPA Submits Resolution In Punjab Assembly Seeking Ban On Beard Trimming
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Rukhsana Kausar has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly, seeking a ban on beard trimming and calling for legal action against the men with ‘fashionable beards’ and barbers making them.

In the resolution tabled, the PML-N lawmaker noted that beard is the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Therefore, legislation should be made to allow strict action against those who shape beards in 'fashionable styles'.

The resolution maintained that any kind of designing on the beard is a ‘grave sin’, and an insult to the beard, which is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The resolution calls for strict action against those ‘who make fun of beard’ – the barbers and men with fashionable beards.

Previously in 2018, the Dera Ghazi Khan District Council had imposed a ban on beard designing and trimming.
