Pakistan Set To Manufacture Portable Ventilators
Managing Director National Radio Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) Brigadier (r) Imran Gul has said that the organisation will manufacture the portable ventilators to combat the pandemic in Pakistan.

According to a news report published in The Express Tribune, the MD said, “Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has expressed confidence in the manufacturing of portable ventilators and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has also facilitated the development.”

General Manager Marketing and Exports Syed Amir Javed said that the corporation took up the task of manufacturing portable ventilators in the initial days of the deadly coronavirus.  He maintained that 50-100 ventilators can be manufactured daily. Moreover, as of now, there are 12 ventilators.

The general manager said NRTC is capable of manufacturing 350-550 ventilators of international standards in a day.

The virus has claimed 4473 lives in the country, while 104,694 patients have recovered successfully and have discharged from the hospitals.

The national tally of coronavirus confirmed cases has risen to 217,809 with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan confirming 77,740, 86,795, 26,938, 10,608 cases respectively. Meanwhile, 1,511 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 13,082 in Islamabad, and 1,135 in Kashmir have reported to date.
