As Karachi continues to face unannounced load-shedding by the Karachi-Electric, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Alamgir Khan has threatened that he would disconnect the power supply to K-E CEO’s house.

According to the details, Alamgir Khan posted a ‘wanted’ poster outside the K-E head office, seeking information about the whereabouts of its CEO Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi.

Talking to journalists, he urged the people to help him trace the house of the CEO, as he wanted to stage a demonstration outside the residence. He said that he will cut the power supply to the house so that the CEO could understand the plight of the masses.

Khan, who is also the head of a #Fixit, has made headlines in the past for such theatrics.

It may be noted here that Karachi is facing up to 12 hours of unannounced load-shedding amid hot and humid weather. However, K-Electric told the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) that it was not at ‘fault’ for load-shedding occurring in the port city after June 22.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, however, announced that there will be no unannounced load-shedding in the port city from Sunday. Asad Umar, the planning minister, said: “Federation can take control of K-Electric if the power company failed to provide relief to Karachiites.”
