Former chief justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry has revealed that a serving general of Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) once telephoned him and sought appointment of his favourite judge.
The former CJ, during an interview, to veteran journalist Sohail Warraich for VOA Urdu, said that once his secretary told him that a general of ISI wants to talk to him. “During the phone call, he [ISI general] asked to appoint a judge. In response, I asked him to appoint a Lieutenant General of my choice, to which he said that it’s not possible.”

The former judge then inquired, “Are we selling rewarian [sesame seed candy] here. The ISI general then disconnected the call.
