Controversial TV host Waqar Zaka has announced to form a political party, the Technology Movement Pakistan, that will work to bring an ‘internet-based revolution’ in Pakistan.

The announcement followed after Zaka launched a campaign in the country against the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) over a ban on mobile game PUBG. The ban was reversed by IHC subsequently.

Zaka’s PUBG stunt also resulted in a hashtag #WaqarZakaForPrimeMinister on Twitter.

According to the Facebook page of the party, the Technology Movement Pakistan’s mission is ‘bring YouTube and Facebook offices in Pakistan, to push the government for providing proper Internet throughout Pakistan, especially in areas of FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, interior Sindh, and Punjab’.

The party advocates for bringing PayPal, cryptocurrency, Amazon, and electronic sports to Pakistan. It also urges the government to provide ‘flexible ways of earning from the internet’.
