PM Imran Asks Drama Writers To Create Ertugrul-Like TV Show In Pakistan
Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the local drama writers to create a play similar to the popular Turkish series 'Dirilis Ertugral', which Pakistan Television (PTV) is currently telecasting on the PM's orders.

In a meeting held recently via video link, the premier urged the renowned writers to promote the local culture, family values and national identity through the work they produce. The PM feared that the foreign content, especially that related to Bollywood, was undermining the local culture, history and social values. It is reducing the youth’s knowledge about Islamic personalities and history, he added.

"The PM told the writers to think how we can create an Ertugral-like play in the country," an attendee told Naya Daur on the condition of anonymity.

He noted that the modern communication tools, easy access to objectionable content and foreign content were jeopardizing the moral values.

Among the other attendees were Hasina Moin, Amjad Islam Amjad, Amna Mufti, Fasih Bari Khan, Bee Gul, Zafar Meraj, Zanzbeel Asim Shah, Saima Ikram Chaudhry and Jahanzeb Qamar.

The state-run PTV recently started airing the play on the premier's directives, who also urged the nation to watch it to learn about the "Islamic history".
