Pakistan Bar Council To File Appeal Against SC Verdict In Justice Isa Case
Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has announced that it would file a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to review the apex court's verdict in the Justice Qazi Faez Isa presidential reference case.

Vice-Chairman of Pakistan Bar Council Abid Saqi said that they are waiting for the detailed verdict from the court on the case before they file a review petition.

He added that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is not to be trusted for transparency because of the government influence that the institution works under.

On Friday, the Supreme Court (SC) rejected the presidential reference against Justice Faez Isa. The court quashed the presidential reference with a bench of Justice Umar Ata Bandial, leading the 10-judge full court hearing the case.

Seven out of ten judges including Justice Umar Bandial, Justice Muneer Akhtar, Justice Faisal Arab Justice Qazi Ameen among others had ordered the case be sent to FBR which has been directed to issue notices to Justice Isa’s wife and children and settle the matter within 7 days. They also directed the FBR to send the report of its inquiry to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

Earlier, Justice Isa’s counsel Munir A. Malik had said that his client was being hounded due to his judgment in the Faizabad dharna case where he had criticised the role of intelligence agencies.
