In an unverified leaked audio clip that has gone viral on social media, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) politician Sumsam Bukhari can be heard threatening a doctor over his refusal to hand over the body of his deceased relative who according to the doctor was a suspected coronavirus patient. The doctor explains to Bukhari about the SOPs that have to be followed before giving the body of coronavirus patients or suspected cases to their families, but he refuses to listen to him.
He says, "You can't do this, he was like a brother to me."
Dr Ehsan Ullah could be heard pleasing that he has no authority over the matter and that he cannot release the dead body without his senior's orders.
However, Sumsam Bukhari has said that the audio was fake and his friend who passed away was not a coronavirus patient. Dr Ehsanullah has also come forward and released a video saying that the audio is fake and that Bukhari had not threatened him. “The audio has been edited and is being presented out of context without my consent”, he said.
