Daughter Of Lal Masjid’s Maulana Abdul Aziz Released After Brief Arrest
Tayyaba Dua, the eldest daughter of Lal Masjid’s Maulana Abdul Aziz was released after 72 hours of arrest by Islamabad authorities, according to the mosque’s spokesperson.

The son of late Ghazi Abdul Rashid and spokesperson of Lal Masjid, Haroon Ghazi, told Naya Daur that initially the capital police officials besieged the house of Tayyaba Dua and then arrested her for three days.

Haroon Ghazi claimed: “There are no cases against Tayyaba but the government has been putting severe pressure on all people close to Maulana Abdul Aziz. This arrest should also be seen in that context.

Naya Daur contacted Islamabad administration and police officials to take their stance but they refused to comment.

On February 12, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) vacated Lal Masjid, after the deadline given to Maulana Abdul Aziz, his family, and students to evacuate the premises of the mosques was expired. Before condoning-off the mosques, the occupants were given a deadline to vacate the premises. On the occasion, the officials from the capital administration said that the agreement was reached with Maulana Aziz on February 9, under which 20 Kanals of land was allocated for construction of Jamia Hafsa and the Lal Masjid.

However, it was also reported that Maulana Abdul Aziz continued to occupy the mosque and claimed that he is still the prayer leader. The area outside the mosque was seized by the capital administration, while the cleric the women associated with Lal Masjid were holed up inside. Both the parties had refused to back off.
