According to reports, the protest was being carried out for the recovery of missing Baloch activists and people.

In May, a Pakistani journalist Sajid Hussain who left the country in 2012 was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Sweden weeks after he went missing.

Sajid Hussain had taken political asylum in Sweden, but he continued his work on human rights violations in Balohistan. Moving to Uppasala from Stockholm, he was last seen on March 2. His body was found on April 23 in the Fyis river outside Uppasala, informed a police spokesman. However, Police is investigating the cause of death and is not ruling out the possibility of crime.

Reporter without Borders (RSF) Sweden chief choice said that the link of his work as journalist with his abduction and killing could not be overlooked. Concerns have been raised by human rights activists and media freedom bodies over the journalist’s mysterious death. Similarly, voices are raised for the other missing persons, with demands to recover them at the earliest. Several activists have remained missing to date, with their whereabouts unknown.
