A Federal Minister Told PM Imran Govt Had Lost Justice Isa Case: Farogh Naseem

Former Minister for Law and the counsel for the government in Justice Qazi Faez Isa case Barrister Farogh Naseem has said that he assured Prime Minister Imran Khan they would win the case after he was told by a federal minister that they had lost it.

“A minister told the premier that its over and we've lost the case,” Dunya News quoted Naseem as saying on Friday. “Afterward, Shehzad Akbar and I told the PM that we have, in fact, won it.”

The barrister said that after the response was quashed, he and Shehzad Akbar approached the premier and gave him an update regarding the case.

On June 19, the top court quashed the presidential reference against Justice Qazi Faez Isa and ordered an end to the proceedings against him in the Supreme Judicial Council. It also asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to hold inquiry into the properties of Justice Isa’s wife and children and submit the report to the SJC within 75 days.

According to analysts, the Supreme Judicial Council may put forth further questions relating to the money trail of the properties of Justice Isa's wife and children. They said it was beyond comprehension why the case has been linked to the council as it is related with investigation the conduct of the judges themselves.
