Tareen Says His Disqualification Was Meant To ‘Balance’ Verdict Disqualifying Nawaz Sharif
Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart Jahangir Tareen has said that the Supreme Court (SC)'s decision to disqualify him was a 'balancing act' to justify its verdict against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

The PTI leader in an interview to journalist Nadeem Malik on his show, said that he had made many sacrifices for his party and premiership of Imran Khan. “My disqualification by the apex court in Panama case is my greatest sacrifice. It was all done just to balance the verdict that was given against Nawaz Sharif,” he said.

Jahangir Tareen said that he had declared all his assets in the first place. “I provided my full money trail to Supreme Court but still I was disqualified for life just because I had transferred my assets to my children. It was very painful for me,” he said, adding that his ‘strong support’ to PM Imran against Nawaz Sharif in Panama case resulted in his disqualification for life.

When asked about the source of the information, Jahangir Tareen said that it’s not based on his personal assumptions but on the general observation of political analysts and media reports of that time.
