Sabri Brother’s Artist Saleem Sabri Living Hand-To-Mouth After Amjad Sabri’s Death

After Qawal Amjad Sabri’s brutal murder, Qawal Saleem Sabri — an artist associated with music band Sabri Brothers — lost his livelihood and is now living in abject poverty. The artist requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to offer him a respectable job and pay the amount he was promised when the former was shot dead.

“I have served Pakistan for years but now I see a very dark future of mine. I have been to San Francisco with martyred Amjad Sabri for Shaukat Khanum’s fund raiser. I request PM Imran to offer me a respectable job so that I can feed my children with dignity,” Saleem Sabri said.

He said that he was along with late Amjad Sabri in his car when he was shot dead in June 2016. “I was injured and promised 15 lakh rupees that I haven’t received to date. I request the government officials to pay me the compensation amount so that I can provide an education to my children,” he added.

On June 22, 2016, Qawali maestro Amjad Sabri, was gunned down in the city of Karachi. Later in April 2018, military court sentenced two terrorists of the banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ) to death over the murder Amjad Sabri.
