Police Personnel Beaten By Mob Of Worshipers For Enforcing Ban On Friday Prayers
A violent mob of worshipers attacked Sindh police personnel for enforcing the ban on congregational prayers outside Tooba Mosque in Nawabshah on Friday. Eight police officials, including a female SHO were injured in the attack.

To regulate the lockdown, Sindh government has restricted congregational prayers on mosques, yet every Friday there are reports of mosque defying the ban to hold Friday prayers.

The cowd pelted stones at the police officials and snatched their mobile phones in Ghulam Rasool Shah Colony. The injured officials were taken to the Peoples Medical University Hospital for first aid.

The mosque leader and Imam, Abdulla Brohi, was arrested after the incident. However, he said that his only mistake had been that he did not close the mosque’s gates, which attracted the people to the mosque for Friday prayers.

Maulana Muhammad Hanif Khoso, a member of the mosque’s committee, condemned the attack and confirmed that these violent bunch of men were not a part of the mosque’s administration. He condemned the act of shouting slogans against the police. He further said they would ensure stricter compliance with the Sindh government’s standard operating procedures.
