PML-N Leaders Flout Social Distancing Protocol During Youm-e-Takbeer Event
Senior PML-N leaders including Maryam Aurangzeb violated social distancing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during an event organised by Pakistan Muslim League-N to mark Youm-e-Takbeer.

Women are seen without their masks, standing close to each other, cutting a celebratory cake. The 6-feet distance isn't being followed either.

Since Eid and the easing of lockdown, people in Pakistan have been very relaxed about the seriousness of the pandemic. Many have given up on following the precautions in public places but there have been no strict measures taken against the violators of SOPs put in place.

There has been a massive surge in numbers of people who have been infected by the virus since Ramzan, when the mosques were also allowed to hold congregational prayers.

As of today, May 29, out of the total 64,745 cases in Pakistan, Punjab reported 22.964 infections, Sindh 26,113, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 9,067, Balochistan 3,616, Islamabad 2,100, Gilgit-Baltistan 657 and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir 227.

Pakistani healthcare professionals across the country have also started testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past few days, with more than 400 confirmed infections among doctors and paramedics.
