A woman from Pakistan’s High Commission in United Kingdom delivered congratulatory flowers to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the occasion of his son’s birth.
According to a news report published in Mail Online, the diplomatic official wearing safety goggles got out of her Mercedes car with a huge bouquet and an envelope for British PM and his fiancée Carrie Symonds. The flowers were delivered as the couple was congratulated by local and international political figures on the birth of their son.
Carrie Symonds, 32, gave birth to a boy at an NHS hospital in London on Wednesday morning. It was reported that the prime minister, who is currently grappling with the coronavirus crisis, would take a ‘short period’ of paternity leave later in the year. Johnson was present throughout the birth of the baby, whose name is not known.
The news comes just weeks after the PM was discharged from intensive care where he had been battling the virus. Symonds also suffered symptoms of the disease.
The couple announced in February that they were expecting a baby in ‘early summer’ and that they had engaged in last year.
The Queen has also sent a private message of good wishes to congratulate the couple on the birth of their son, Buckingham Palace said.
