Pakistan has gifted a plane loaded with surgical masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to America as a ‘token of friendship’ and ‘solidarity’ during the global coronavirus pandemic.
United States Secretary of State Department Mike Pompeo appreciated Pakistan’s ‘goodwill’ donation and said, “This delivery is a symbol of US-Pakistan solidarity in the fight against COVID-19.”

Pakistan’s Ambassador to US Asad Khan took to Twitter and said that Pakistan armed forces gifted a plane load of PPE to US armed forces as a token of friendship and solidarity during the fatal coronavirus pandemic. “Senior US officials joined our team at the hand-over ceremony at Andrews Air Base,” the Pakistani envoy added.

However, some Pakistanis have not liked the ‘goodwill’ gesture as the country herself is facing a shortage of protective gear. The doctors across the country have arranged a number of protests against the unavailability of PPE in hospitals to date since the coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.
Journalist Bilal Farooqi reacted to Pakistan's and said: “How can we give them away to others when we're facing a shortage? Our doctors & paramedics are getting sick & dying. NDMA was supposed to hand them over to provinces. Ridiculous!”
