Minister Shibli Faraz Called Salman Shehbaz 'Sugar Daddy'. Does He Know What It Means?
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz used a slang term, 'sugar daddy', during a press conference while referring to Salman Shehbaz, the son of Shehbaz Sharif.

We found it a little disconcerting to hear this slang from a politician and a minister at that but did he even know what he was saying?

The Federal Minister appeared to have referred to Salman Shehbaz as the 'sugar daddy' for being the biggest player in the sugar mill corruption scandal.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he accused the Sharif family of being the most influential patron of sugar mafia in all of Pakistan. He also claimed that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had facilitated Salman to the top when he became the prime minister.

But the term 'sugar daddy' actually means an older man who spoils a younger man or woman financially in exchange for sexual favours. The phrase can be traced back to 1920s, when it became a slang term to refer upper-class men in a benefactor arrangement with generally women recipients.

We doubt that's what the minister meant. He would do well to look up meaning of the terms he publicly uses.
