Is Punjab Hiding 1,189 Confirmed ‘To Be Traced’ Coronavirus Cases?
As many as 1,180 confirmed coronavirus cases have not been traced yet in Punjab, according to the provincial health department. However, the department website doesn't show the ‘to be traced’ category.

Journalist Benazir Shah posted a series of tweets about the matter. She posted Punjab’s health department official coronavirus cases list, according to which the provincial government has not traced 1,180 coronavirus patients to date.

Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid during an interview to journalist Shahzaib Khanzada on his show, said that all the coronavirus patients have been traced. She said, “maybe these ‘to be traced’ cases are suspected cases.”  However, she promised to investigate the matter and share the details.

“It is odd that Dr Rashid is unaware of a report published by her department. Because if these are indeed 1000 positive cases, who have yet “to be traced”, then that is rather concerning,” Benazir Shah further said.

The virus has claimed 385 lives in Pakistan, while 4,315 patients have recovered successfully and have discharged from the hospitals.

The national tally of coronavirus confirmed cases has risen to 16,817, with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan confirming 6,340, 6,053, 2,627, 1049 cases respectively. Meanwhile, 343 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 339 in Islamabad, and 66 in Kashmir have reported to date.
