How PM Imran Changed His Views On Lockdown Over The Course Of Few Days
Prime Minister Imran Khan has been giving contradictory statements on the nationwide coronavirus lockdown on the national television for a last couple of weeks.

Journalist Shahzaib Khanzada on his show on Geo News, aired all the confusing statements of the prime minister that he has issued so far regarding the countrwide lockdown imposed by the fatal virus.

On Thursday, the premier said, “The power elite decided to impose a lockdown in Pakistan without even thinking about its consequences for the daily wagers and poor segment of society.” Although in the past, PM Imran even defended the lockdown, saying that the lockdown in the country was successful because the government had strictly restricted the public gatherings of all sorts.

On April 14, the prime minister said: “We [federal government] announced the lockdown when there were only 26 confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan.”

Moreover, it was federal government’s National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) headed by federal minister Asad Umar that extended the countrywide coronavirus lockdown every time. On April 24, Asad Umar announced, “The federal government has decided to extent the lockdown for two week till May 9.”
