Former PML-N MPA Sardar Atif Mazari Murdered By Son
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s former lawmaker Sardar Atif Mazari, 48, was gunned down by his son in his native town Rajanpur on Wednesday night.
The sources closed to Atif’s family revealed that his elder son Basit Mazari shot him dead. The local police officials have said that the PML-N leader was brought to Rajanpur District Headquarter Hospital in a critical condition. DHQ Senior Surgeon Dr Tariq treated him but he succumbed to his injuries.
Later, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajanpur Zulfiqar Ali and District Police Officer (DPO) Ehsan Saifullah, and a large number of people reached the hospital. Digital news outlet Urdu Point reported that DPO Rajanpur Saifullah, while quoting the family members of the deceased, confirmed that Atif Mazari was shot dead ‘accidentally’ by Basit Mazari, “who is mentally unstable”.
Meanwhile, Rehan Mazari, the younger son of deceased politician has registered the first information report (FIR) in a local police station. The body of Atif Mazari has been handed over to the family after the postmortem examination.
