Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing criticism from the opposition for not attending the special session of National Assembly summoned to debate the Covid-19 crisis. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the opposition was not asking for much, "just for him to do his job".

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tributes to the doctors and paramedics for fighting the virus on the front-line on Monday and pointed out the absence of Prime Minister Imran Khan, criticising him for not attending the National Assembly session on such an important matter.
“It was a part of his job to remain present in the House as leader of the House,” he said and offered cooperation to the federal government in joint battle against coronavirus.
Earlier today, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbbai had also strongly criticised the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) for not taking the opposition parties into confidence while making policies to counter the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Talking about the health protocols being implemented by the government, he said that in such situations, two policies were developed: a testing protocol and treatment protocol. “What is the testing protocol here? If I go to a hospital, I can get tested. Nowhere in the world is this allowed. We have a 19 per cent infection rate,” he told the National Assembly.
