Trump Shock: 'Can Disinfectants Be Injected Into Body To Kill Coronavirus?'
At a Thursday night White House press briefing, US President Donald Trump asked if UV light and disinfectants could be injected into the body to kill coronavirus. The president was being briefed about the impact of ultraviolet rays and disinfectants on the virus.

Doctors have been warning US citizens not to take the president's statement as a piece of advice since it was an extremely ‘dangerous idea to inject the disinfectant into your body to kill Coronavirus'. “My concern is that people will die. People will think this is a good idea,” Craig Spencer, director of global health in emergency medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center said.

The makers of Dettol, a household cleaning product, urged people not to ingest disinfectant. It should be mentioned here that an Arizona man died and his wife was hospitalized last month after they ingested a fish tank cleaning chemical.

World leaders' lack of understanding of basic sciences has been badly exposed during the last few months. In a story published in Dawn last month, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was reported to have asked the experts after receiving a detailed briefing on Coronavirus: “Yeh corona kaat-ta kaisay hai? (how does this corona bite?)”

The report had been disputed by the Punjab government and Dawn was threatened with a legal notice for attributing an ‘absolutely rubbish, baseless & fake’ report with the province’s chief executive.
