Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the federal government to remove Dr Zafar Mirza as Special Assistant to the PM on Health Affairs. According to reports, the apex court said that his performance is not satisfactory.
At the top court's remarks, the attorney general said that his removal would give rise to a crisis.
The CJ issued the orders while hearing a suo motu case against the government's handling of the coronavirus crisis. He said that the federal cabinet is not doing anything to fight the coronavirus pandemic. He added that PM's adviser on health has demonstrated that he is not eligible to handle the ongoing situation.
Dawn reported that the apex court stopped short of issuing any written orders in this regard. The top judge also remarked that lack of leadership could not maintain unity in the country during the crisis.
