Murree Brewery Seeks Permission To Manufacture Hand Sanitisers
Murree Brewery, the largest alcohol producer company in Pakistan has sought permission from Punjab government to manufacture hand sanitisers to end its shortage across the country.

The digital news outlet Pro Pakistani reported that the Chief Executive of Murree Brewery Isphanyar M Bhandara sent a letter to Punjab Director General of Excise and Taxation, requesting the government department to allow his company to manufacture alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

“We request the government to grant us a special permission for manufacturing and selling ethanol-based hand sanitizers (having 70%v/v ethanol) on urgent basis without fulfilling any long formalities so that being a socially responsible corporate company, we could participate in fighting against the deadly pandemic,” the letter read.

Murree Brewery said that as a socially responsible company they were willing to play their role in making hand sanitizers on war footing to help the nation in this hard time.

The company in a separate letter has asked the government of Punjab to let them work during the lockdown as Food Items Manufacturing and Distributions Offices are exempted from the lockdown order.
