Mardan Doctor Who Protested Against Lack Of Protective Gear Gets Coronavirus
Mardan: A doctor at Mardan's District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday. He had earlier protested against the lack of Personal Protective Equipment in the hospital in an interview to a private news channel, and was later issued a letter by the hospital administration seeking explanation over the interview.

Following the interview, he was called in by the office of Medical Superintendent to remind him that indulging with the media was 'against the rules and regulations' of the hospital and that he should explain his position immediately or a 'disciplinary action' would be taken against him.

The KP Young Doctors Association had  already revealed that they were facing an acute shortage of safety kits for the healthcare workers at the facility, and yet the only action taken was against the doctor, not the lack of PPE.

The infected doctor is currently in isolation.

The KP Young Doctors Association has requested the government to provide safety kits for doctors “on a war footing”.
