‘Kartarpur Domes Repaired In 24 Hours’: FO Rubbishes India’s Claims
Following India's request to Pakistan to address the 'deficiencies' that led to the damage of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib's domes, the Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Aisha Farooqui advised India to pay attention to poor state of Muslims and their worship places In India, rather than raising concerns regarding the minorities of other countries.

The FO spokesperson on Sunday clarified that Gurdwara Kartarpur’s domes damaged on the night of April 17 had already been repaired. She said the repair work was completed within 24 hours of the damage. While referring to the Indian authorities sending a formal letter regarding the matter, Aisha stated, “India would be well-advised to take steps to effectively protect its minorities and their places of worship, rather than feigning concerns for the rights of minorities elsewhere.”

The spokesperson added that it was ironic that a country where religious minorities did not feel safe, and where their places of worship were routinely destroyed under patronage of state machinery, had the audacity to raise the issue of minor damage caused to a religious site due to a natural calamity.

“The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) and the Sikh community have greatly appreciated the efforts for immediate repair of the damaged domes,” she added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan along with the notable delegations of Sikh community belonging to Pakistan, India and other foreign countries inaugurated the Kartarpur Corridor on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
