Sindh’s Governor Imran Ismail has become one of the most high-profile Pakistanis to have tested positive for Covid-19. In a tweet, the governor announced that he intended to fight it out with the same spirit that PM Imran Khan inspired.
Social media has seen an outpouring of support and wishes for his recovery since the governor’s tweet.
The official total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Pakistan is now close to 14,000.
A few days earlier, there had been alarm-bells across the country after noted philanthropist Faisal Edhi, head of the Edhi Foundation, tested positive for the Coronavirus. He had met with a number of top civil, military and business leaders including PM Imran Khan. A subsequent test had indicated that the Prime Minister was not infected.
I have just been tested Covid 19 positive, Allah Kareem inshallah will fight it out. @ImranKhanPTI thought us to fight out the most difficult in life and I believe this is nothing against what we r prepared for. May Allah give strength to fight this Pandemic inshallah.
