Armed Forces Will Stand Shoulder To Shoulder With Nation, Gen Bajwa

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended a briefing on the current coronavirus situation of the coronavirus crisis during National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).


According to Pak Tribe, COAS Qamar Bajwa was briefed about the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s containment efforts and enforcement measures against COVID-19.


The COAS on the occasion said, “We cannot afford to leave any segment of the society at the mercy of this pandemic. Only through a coherent national effort we can address all vulnerabilities before they turn into threats. The planned measures, if implemented timely will contribute to safety and well-being of every Pakistani and society at large.”


General Bajwa directed the troops on ground to reach out to the citizens in every nook & corner of Pakistan to protect them against the pandemic. “This time the challenge is entirely different. Armed Forces will stand shoulder to shoulder with nation to guard the border between people and COVID-19,” the COAS reiterated.


A number of federal ministers including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Brig Ijaz Ahmed Shah, Asad Umar, Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Khusro Bakhtiar, and Ali Zaidi attended the meeting. Apart from the federal ministers, the special assistants to prime ministers, including Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Dr Zafar Mirza, Moeed Yousaf, and Sania Nishtar, also attended the briefing.
