Allama Zameer Akhtar Says Karachi’s Malir Area Is Named After Malaria
Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi, of the Laddan Jafry fame, has claimed in an interview that coronavirus can be traced back to Alexander the Great when he visited Sindh. By the time that Alexander the Great reached Malir, he was bitten by a mosquito that causes malaria.

He proceeded to conclude that the foreign world has now discovered that coronavirus can also be treated by the medicine that malaria is treated with. He meant the drug chloroquine.

He provides no rationale for him to believe this, or any scientific explanation, so we might very well just accept that this is one of his hysteria tactics, which have often went viral.

However, there has been no link discovered yet, by the scientists between the novel Covid-19 and malaria.

COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus (a large family of viruses) that had previously not been identified in humans. It first emerged in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and has since been declared as an outbreak by World Health Organization (WHO).
